Reviews of Items in Dean's List VoxBox

Playtex® Sport® Fresh Balance™

I like this product, it works really well. It slides in easily, goes where it needs to, doesn't fall out, and absorbs quite a bit. All of those are crucial when you want to #PlayOn. Right now thought it's more #MommyOn. ;) The last thing I want to worry about when running around and playing with twin boys is having a leaky tampon. I do NOT have to worry about that with this product! My one comment that isn't glowing is the fact that my box smelled heavily of perfume, and I'm not sure why that is. I don't mind the smell, it just struck me as unusual for a tampon to smell that way. Overall, an amazing product that goes above and beyond other tampons that I have used recently.

Airheads Bites

This is quite the yummy treat, I couldn't resist devouring the entire package of candy in one sitting. The flavors were very good, it packed a lot of flavor into a little tiny piece of candy. My biggest complaint is that the bag I received was so small, I wanted to keep eating them! ;) I definitely would recommend this for people who haven't tried it yet and want to try a new candy. :)

Luden's® Throat Drops

These were so yummy that I had a hard time remembering they were candy! They work really well for what they're intended for, which is soothing the throat. So very effective that I will be buying more when I run out! I might have to try some more of their flavors though. ;)

SinfulColors #NoTextRed

I always like the color red in nail polish, and this product definitely was a good one for me. It applied easily, although I had to do several coats to acheive the rich red that I wanted. It also seemed to be quick drying, although I never truly test my nails until 24 hours later, just because I've had nail polish smudge hours after being applied before. I like the reason behind this nail polish, it's to remind people not to text while driving. I definitely liked this product and I will have to try their other colors. The picture of the hand is my own, and it wasn't that good of a job with painting. It's hard to keep things even when twins are needing attention. :)

You can find this product in: Walgreens; Bed, Bath, & Behond/Hamon; Kmart; ICM; Albersons; HEB; Giant Eagle; Hi Schol Pham; AAFES; NEXCOM; and Wegmans.

KISS Looks So Natural

I have never used false lashes before, so I don't have much to compare it to. I do like how natural these appeared though, they just enhanced my natural lashes and the tapered points definitely had a real look to them. As seen, I'm not too sure I applied them right, this was me showing the stark difference between one eye with nothing and the other JUST with this product. I definitely would recommend, I think these are amazing!

Pilot Fixon Clicker

I like the idea behind these pens. They do erase, however, it has to be almost immediately after the mistake has been made, for once the ink dries I don't think it does very well. It writes really smooth and I was happy to be able to use both a blue and a black pen. It does erase really well when erased immediately after, but let it sit for more than a couple of seconds and some residue from the mark will remain. I definitely recommend for college students, or any student in general that wants to write in pen, just know to erase the mistake as soon as it's made and you're all good!

Softlips®

This product smells amazing! That's the first thing I noticed when I grabbed it, that the sweet smell of vanilla definitely agreed with this product. It works amazingly as a chapstick, my lips felt really good after using it. I like the cube design, it means it's less likely to get squished when put in my purse/backpack. The shape also lets me find it easier, because when I try to find tubes, they get mixed in with all of the other cylindrical shapes that are in there, things such as pens and pencils. I definitely recommend this, and I will try another flavor soon!

Disclaimer: I received these products to test and review from Influenster. :) #contest

Boldly Going Where (This) Mommy Has Never Gone Before!

I am taking the jump into cloth diapers, and I honestly have little idea what I am doing. I have asked several people for advice, and I plan on sharing my adventures. I have no idea if cloth diapering twins will be the same as having just one baby, I know it will mean more laundry, but I am prepared for that to not use so many disposable diapers. Because of the laundry, and living in an apartment, I just purchased a portable washing machine that attaches to the faucet. I'll have to make sure to review that after I get to use it.

Here is what I am hoping to start out with: pocket diapers, and all-in-two diapers. I had purchased some pocket diapers, and while my first go-round had very mixed results, that might be that I tried some cheap china diapers. I have disposable back-ups at the ready, so until I get this cloth thing down, I do have something to fall back on.

I reached out to a cloth diapering community via Facebook, and this is what I wrote:
"Hi, so I am starting to try cloth diapers and I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. I have twin boys and they're both on the extremely slender side (while they're heights are about average, they're weights are the 2nd and 3rd percentiles). The diapers that I got don't seem to fit around the legs and I'm running out of size 1 disposable diapers and would like to make the transition to cloth. Are there any brands/sizes that anyone could recommend for skinny-legged babies who are about 10 lbs currently? Any help would be appreciated, I really hope to dive into the cloth diaper world! Thank you so much in advance!"
The responses I got were amazing, some of the recommendations were AppleCheeks, Charlie Banana, Rumparooz, AMP, Soft Bums, BestBottom and Thirsties. I am hoping to be able to try at least several of these, I also am going to be trying Kawaii along with the cheap diapers I have received. I will post more once I have actually gotten to test them, juggling twins that are both acting like they're teething means not much computer time. :)

o.b.® ProComfort® tampons Review

DISCLAIMER: I received this product free from Smiley360 in return for me writing my honest opinion. That being said... :)

I had to wait a while to test this product out, and I have a mixed review about this product. While it is small, eco-friendly and absorbs more menstrual fluid than I expected it would it also was hard to apply at times and I have had it start to slip out. I was having to change the tampon every 2-3 hours because I was going through them that fast, and the 3 hours was when I was using the thicker tampons. Granted, this has been my first period after having my babies, and I did notice that it had absorbed a ton. When I was able to insert it just right, there were several times that I almost completely forgot that I had a tampon. I would consider buying these again if I didn't like applicators so much, or at least ones that aren't cardboard. If someone doesn't care if there is an applicator, I do think this is a great product, it absorbs a lot of fluid, is small, compact and easy to carry multiple around without raising questions. I do recommend this to people who are wanting to be more eco-aware and don't want an applicator.

Pros:
Small
Compact
Discreet
Eco-friendly
Absorbs more than expected

Cons:
Hard to insert at times
Has fallen out

Twins a Day Away from Two Months

Man, where has the time gone... I couldn't have asked for healthier baby boys, it seems almost unheard of for twins to not have any complications. Anyone who has had twins knows that they are quite the handful, especially if the SAH route is chosen. It isn't impossible to have twins and be a SAHM or SAHD, but it definitely pushes you to your limits. I guess I'll do a little bit of a cap review of the last two months (since this is the first time I've gotten to sit and focus for more than 5 minutes since they were born).

I hope anyone with twins realizes that twins do what they want to, without regards to their sibling. If baby A wants to sleep he will, while baby B will want cuddles and food. The trick is to try and juggle them so that only one at max is crying.

I am so grateful my boys like their pacifiers! I use MAM pacifiers and they work perfectly for their tiny mouths. Many a time a pacifier has helped with a car ride or just their need to suck something to be soothed into sleep. By the way, for a baby who is a teething, a frozen pacifier can work wonders (until it gets warm that is, just hope the baby is asleep for that happens).

Diapers... I feel like I could be buried alive by the amount of diapers that I have personally changed, and there's probably another grave that could be filled for my husband. ;) In all seriousness though, there are a lot of diapers. I use disposable, and I definitely think that my husband and I will be sticking to name brand diapers, the off brands just don't seem to work very well, and when a diaper doesn't work very well, it just gets frustrating.

Ok, the adorable factor! Babies can be quite cute when they're not screaming their heads off. See, cute right?

This little cutie is Aiden. :) Right after a bath.
This little cutie is Caleb, he definitely has more facial expressions, or more grand facial expressions than bro.

I'll have to do a post soon on feeding and sleeping and the works, 'cause the baby in my arms (Caleb) is starting to get fussy and I need to wrap this up anyway.

All in the life of being a SAHM (times two!)! :D

NEW ChapStick® Dual-Ended Hydration Lock

So I signed up a couple months ago to an amazing website, www.smiley360.com , and I didn't think anything of it. I laughed when I said that I would totally start getting free things, because, ya know, free things aren't really free anymore. I diligently watched the website for a week or two, refreshing it every so often, hoping that I might get a freebie. I had actually completely forgotten about it, to the point where I was going to erase my account just so I didn't have my information floating around on yet another website. Then I got an e-mail saying that I qualified for a mission, and although it was just an introductory mission, I decided to go ahead and go for it. I did it, and not long after, I got an invitation for ChapStick® Dual-Ended Hydration Lock. I of course accepted right away, still somewhat skeptical that I would actually receive anything. Lo and behold, I actually received a free product, a free full-sized product... WITH coupons! One of the stipulations for me receiving this COMPLETELY FREE product is that I write some reviews about it. One of the optional things that I can do to earn more points is to write a blog about it. This is my explaining why I'm doing what I'm doing, time to get down to the nitty gritty.

DISCLAIMER: I received this product free from smiley360 in return for me writing my honest opinion. That being said... :)

I received my smiley360 box in the mail quite promptly. Of course I had to gush over how cute it was, being as I had never received anything like it before. The little smiley face was just adorable, just so you know. Sorry I didn't take a picture, thought about it after I had annihilated it to get to the contents. Above is the contents of the box, which are the 5 $1.50/1 coupons, the Night and Day ChapStick® Dual-Ended Hydration Lock, and the smiley360 guide for what to do now that I had received my free product.

I have tried the product for several days and nights now, and I overall really do like this product. The Day portion of my ChapStick tends to feel drier than one would expect for ChapStick, of course that might be the fact that I've never had ChapStick with SPF before. The Night portion I definitely enjoy, it makes my lips feel amazing after putting it on, I almost wish I had just a stick of the Night portion. :) This is the perfect time for me to be testing out this product, for my lips were getting chapped. I do believe it has been helping with keeping my lips hydrated, I know by now I probably would have had cracked lips. The scents for both sides of the ChapStick were pleasing, although incredibly different. I would definitely recommend this product, for I think it is pretty amazing. (Of course, when have I ever had a stick of ChapStick that I haven't liked? ;) )

Teething

So, my babies aren't even 7 weeks old yet (that glorious day is tomorrow), and I'm pretty sure they're both teething. One of them has had some white spots where the molars are for at least a week now, but it doesn't feel sharp to touch. Granted they might not have broken the skin yet but... Pretty sure he's teething because of the screaming that happens when he's in pain, the drooling, bubbles and the fact that my knuckles on my pointer finger seem to be the best thing in the world right now to be in his mouth. The other, I think I might see a bump on the bottom of his mouth in the gumline, and he's been going at his pacifier pretty hard as well. So, time will tell if they are teething or not, but a suggestion for those who might be in the same predicament as I am, where the babies are too young for teething toys, I've found that if you run water on the chewy part of the nipple and stick it in the fridge, if you have several that you can rotate out that seems to be helping mine quite a bit. They both spit out the pacifier quite a bit, but it's the only thing other than my finger that I can guarantee will at least have a chance of staying in their mouths for any length of time. And the screaming begins again, time to switch the pacifiers out! :)

Sleep Deprived First Post

After yet another feeding done in the middle of the night, eyes blurring but staying awake to make sure both babies fall asleep, I decided to create a blog. This is the first post made, and yeah. I'm tired. I think this is enough to test the waters. :)
