This is super cute. I mean, not only does it have an adorable little bug for the car, but it also has functionality, both with sound and without.
Without sound you can use this as a toy sorter. It comes with 6 different shapes, and each shape not only has a letter or number on it, but a fruit that rattles inside it as well. The red triangle has a number 1 on it, with a strawberry inside. The orange circle has a number 2 on it, with an orange inside. The yellow heart has a number 3 on it, with a group of bananas inside. The green square has the letter A on it, with a green apple inside. The lime green flower has the letter B on it, with a pear inside. The purple hexagon has the letter C on it, with a bunch of grapes inside. Each shape has its own little hole to go into, that is color coordinated to that shape. The back shape is on the back door, which actually snaps into place. The back door can be opened just like the back door on an actual car, allowing for easy removal of toys (or clean up).
There are two switches to make this toy go, and to play music. The music switch is on the left side of the bottom of the car (if you have the toy's front facing away from you), and the music is on when it is closer to the head of the toy, and off when it is closer to the back door. The music if plays ranges from songs, to car noises. The other switch, the one that turns the entire car on or off, is at the front. The switch has to be all the way on the right to get it to turn on. When it turns on, if you have the music switch on, it will instantly start playing music. It will also drop down a little set of rotating wheels, which causes it to go in random directions with no way to control it. My twins love chasing after this kind of stuff, and this one is slower than others I've had them play with in the past, but they like the sounds this toy makes more. When you turn it off, the wheels will come back into the body of the car, and the music will shut off. The toy is then a regular shape sorter again, that can be pushed around by little toddler hands.
Pros:
*Super cute
*Functionality with or without sound
*Includes shapes, numbers, letters and fruit with sorting pieces
*Has a variety of sounds
*Can move on its own or be pushed when off
Cons:
*None
I love the aspect that I can use this both with batteries, or without. One is more for stationary play, while the other is a chasing kind of play. Each has a different kind of fun.
